Contributor licence

Version 1.0 · In force from 28 August 2026

This licence is between you and Red Swift Systems Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 14891467, with its registered office at 2nd Floor College House, 17 King Edwards Road, Ruislip, London HA4 7AE, United Kingdom, which operates Mixify. You accept it once, before your first contribution, and again whenever it changes. It sits alongside the Terms of service and the Privacy policy and does not replace them.

What counts as a contribution

A recipe you publish, a variant you fork from another drink, the words you write about a drink, a photograph you upload, a menu or other document you attach as evidence, and any drinks you import in bulk. Each is a contribution from the moment you send it to us.

What you keep

Everything. This is a licence, not an assignment. You remain the owner of whatever rights you hold in your contribution, and you may use it anywhere else, at any time, without asking us.

The licence you give us

For each contribution you grant Red Swift Systems Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

  • host, store, reproduce and back up the contribution;
  • display and distribute it in Mixify, on the web, in the mobile apps and through our programming interfaces;
  • adapt it for delivery — resize, crop, transcode and compress a photograph for a card or a screen, format a recipe for a device, translate measurements between units;
  • show it in our own promotion of Mixify, always with your credit attached;
  • pass those rights on to the providers that host, deliver and secure Mixify for us, to the extent they need them to do that.

The licence lasts for as long as the contribution is published on Mixify, and continues after that for copies already delivered, cached or backed up, and for the attribution record described below. It does not allow us to sell your photographs on their own, to remove your credit, or to present your contribution as anyone else's.

Your promises

By contributing you confirm that:

  • a photograph you upload was taken by you, or you hold a licence to it that permits everything in the section above;
  • a recipe you publish as your own is your creation, or a classic whose authorship is unattributable. Someone else's named creation is not yours to publish as your own: publish it as a variant, which credits its creator permanently;
  • the words you write are your own, not copied from a book, a website or another contributor;
  • a menu or document you attach as evidence is genuine and shows what you say it shows;
  • nothing you contribute infringes anyone's rights or breaks the law where you are.

If any of that turns out not to be true, we may remove the contribution, correct the attribution, and — for a deliberate false claim of authorship — close your account.

Attribution and the public record

Mixify records who created what. When you publish, we record the fact — your Mixify account, the drink, a fingerprint of its ingredients and method, a fingerprint of the photograph, the time — in an evidence log designed so that entries cannot be altered or removed afterwards, and we may anchor summaries of that log to a public blockchain so that the date can be checked by anyone. The log holds identifiers and fingerprints, never your name, email or the text itself.

That record is evidence of prior publication by an identified person. It is not a patent, a registered trade mark or a copyright registration, and it does not give you or us any intellectual-property right that the law does not already give. Where the law lets us honour a deletion request we will remove the link between the record and your identity; the record itself, by design, stays.

Evidence you attach

A menu photograph or similar document attached to support a claim is held privately. It is not displayed in Mixify. We use it only to assess a dispute about who created a drink, and we may show it to the other party to that dispute and to anyone adjudicating it.

Images we generate

Mixify may generate its own illustration of a drink from its recipe. Those images are ours, are marked as generated, and are never presented as your photograph or attributed to you.

Moral rights

Where you have moral rights in a contribution — to be identified as its author and to object to derogatory treatment of it — we respect them and do not ask you to waive them. Attribution is what Mixify is for.

Withdrawing

You may withdraw this licence from your account settings. Withdrawal stops new contributions; it does not by itself remove what you have already published. You can unpublish your own recipes at any time, and we will remove them from Mixify, subject to the copies and the attribution record described above.

Changes

If we change this licence we will publish a new version with a new date, and you will be asked to accept it before contributing again. Contributions made under an earlier version stay under that version.

Law

This licence is governed by the law of England and Wales, as the Terms of service are.
