Bars: claiming and working there

There are two different things. Claiming a bar means you run it: one person per bar. Saying where you pour means you work there: any number of people per bar.

Which one do I need?

  • You own or manage the bar: claim it. You then keep its page right and confirm your team.
  • You work behind the bar: add it under Where I pour. Every bartender at the bar can do this; nobody takes anyone else’s place.
A bar has one claimant, so agree inside the team who that is, usually the owner or the manager. Everyone else adds the bar under Where I pour, and the claimant confirms them.

Claim a bar

  1. Sign in, and open the bar’s page in the app or on mixify.bar.
  2. Tap This is my bar in the app, or Claim this bar on the web.
  3. Say who you are and how we can check it, for example “Owner, listed on the bar’s website team page”. Then send it.
  4. A person at Mixify checks it against the bar’s own website. While they do, the bar page says a claim is waiting.

Once approved, a Your bar panel appears on the bar page. If a claim is not approved, the bar goes back to unclaimed and can be claimed again. To change what you wrote, send the claim again; your new note replaces the old one.

What the claimant can do

  • Correct the bar’s address and website. The name and city are changed by Mixify; ask us through Report a problem.
  • Add lists and awards the bar is on, each with a link to the page that shows it.
  • Confirm the people who say they work there.
  • Reply to reviews, as the bar.
  • Print codes for the bar and its menu from the web dashboard.

Good to know

  • Only one claim can wait on a bar at a time. If someone else got there first, you will see “a claim is already waiting”.
  • The bar must be on Mixify already. A bar someone just added can be claimed once we have approved it.
  • If the claimant deletes their account, the bar is released and can be claimed again.

Say where you pour

For bartenders and verified professionals. The section is on the You tab in the app and on your profile on the web.

  1. Go to You → Where I pour and tap + I pour at…
  2. Search for the bar by name and tap it.
  3. Pick your role: bartender, head bartender, bar manager, owner or other.
  4. Optionally add since when, as a date like 2024-05-01. Tap Add.

It shows Waiting for the bar to confirm until the bar’s claimant confirms you. Then it says Confirmed by the bar, and you appear on the bar’s Behind the bar list. Confirmed staff can also print the bar’s codes from the web dashboard.

If nobody has claimed the bar yet, nobody can confirm you. The bar still shows on your own page, but not on the bar’s staff list until someone claims it and confirms you.
  • Moved on? Tap I’ve moved on. The bar stays on your page as history, with the years.
  • If you claimed the bar yourself, adding it under Where I pour confirms you straight away.
  • Bar not on Mixify? Log a drink there and choose Add a bar that is not listed. Once we approve it, you can add it here.

For claimants: confirm your team

  1. Open your bar’s page and scroll to Behind the bar.
  2. People who say they work there are marked “only you see this until you confirm”.
  3. Tap Confirm for each person who works there, or No for anyone who does not.
