Publishing your own drinks
Anyone with an account can publish a drink, with their name on it. Studio walks you through it in the app: accept the contributor licence once, check the drink against the catalogue, publish.
The contributor licence
- You keep everything. You let Mixify show and share your work, with your credit on it.
- The work must be yours: your photos, your recipes, or classics nobody owns. Someone else’s named drink goes up as a variant that credits them.
- Authorship is recorded permanently, as evidence of who published first.
It is asked once, the first time you publish or upload, and again when a new version comes out. You can withdraw it in You → Account & settings; you then cannot publish or edit until you accept again, and what you already published stays up. Read the full licence.
Publish a recipe
- Go to You → Studio → New recipe.
- Fill in the title, description, base spirit, how it is served, the ingredients and the method. A photo is optional (JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 12 MB).
- Tap Check against the catalogue. Publishing needs this, and again if you change the recipe afterwards.
- Tap Publish recipe. It goes live straight away.
What the catalogue check means
- Nothing like it or related drinks: publish as normal.
- Same family: usually publish it as a variant. If it really is your own creation, tick the box saying you have seen the similar drinks; you can add a menu or photo as private evidence.
- Already in the catalogue: it can only go up as a variant of that drink.
Your version of someone else’s drink
Tap Publish as a variant of … from the check, and say what you changed. It is published under your name, the original is credited as its parent permanently, and tips on your version come to you.
Publishing a drink someone else created
Fill in Created by, if not you with the bartender’s name. Brands use this for signature serves. The person is credited; nobody is paid for it until they join Mixify.
Edit or remove
- Only the author edits a recipe. Every save is kept as a revision, with a line on what changed.
- Remove this recipe takes it out of the catalogue. Variants of it keep their credit.
Professional status
A badge for people verified as working in the trade. It is not needed to publish. To ask for it, go to You → Account & settings → Request professional status; the Mixify team decides.
Videos
- Bartenders and verified professionals can add a short video (up to 90 seconds) to a drink they created.
- Filmed someone else’s drink? Upload it under You → Videos and offer it to them. If they accept, it goes on their drink, credited to you.
- Every video is checked by Mixify before it appears.
